The evening of 11 November 2010, The 12^th Orthopedic Conference of Chinese Orthopaedic Association and the 5^th COA (Chinese Orthopaedic Association) International Academic Conference in 2010 co-sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, Orthopaedic Surgery of Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Faculty of Medicine & Health of Chinese Academy of Engineering opened in New International Exhibition Center of Chengdu. "Harmonious orthopaedic" embody in establishing a Network system of work which takes Orthopaedic Surgery of Branch of Chinese Medical Association as center, Professional Committee around country as network system. “Humanistic orthopaedic” is not only value the improvement of professional technology of orthopedics, but pay more attention to improve the quality of orthopedic surgeons in the humanities. Orthopaedic Surgery of Branch of Chinese Medical Association initiative that take the week which include the day of 15th May as "orthopaedic surgeon week", in that week, volunteer medical consultation and scientific campaigns of Orthopedic doctors Will be held every year across the country (including Hong Kong and Macao), the purpose is to strengthen the social responsibility of orthopaedic surgeon and improve the public image of orthopaedic surgeon, with a practical action to return society.

After five years rapid development, this COA conference has already amounted to ten thousands delegates, 12,000 conference papers, nearly a thousand international manuscripts, hundreds of exhibitors, the COA has become the brand academic conference in international orthopedic community, it has become a high level, large-scale and internationalization conference.
